Frequency control of China Southern Power Grid

The serious frequency fluctuations of China Southern Power Grid during recent years are studied and it is pointed out that the abnormal load change and the inappropriate parameter setting of secondary frequency regulation are the main causes.Countermeasures are proposed:reasonable distribution of the hydro/thermal power primary frequency reserve,appropriate parameter settings of secondary frequency regulation,manual intervention and control of transmission loss deviation.Practical results show that they are effective.
