Thermodynamic Analysis of Iron Smelting Reduction from Copper Residue

Thermodynamic analysis of copper residue components reduction and the calculation of(FeO) activity as the slag of molten was researched.X-ray diffraction pattern reveals that fayalite(2FeO·SiO2) is the main phase presented in the slag.Thermodynamic analysis shows that the iron carbon reduction starting temperature decreases from 1042.23K to 757.47K when certain amount of CaO added to this copper slag;reduction of Mg,Al,Si and Ca can not take place;reduction degree of Fe2+ increases as O2-activity elevates.Activity calculation model for slag system of CaO-FeO-SiO2 indicates that activity of(FeO) increases to the maximum of 0.14 as the basicity of 2.0.
