Detection of Glaucoma in Retinal Images Based on Multiobjective Approach

Glaucomaisoneofthemajorcausesofblindness.Glaucomaisaconditionduetoincreasedpressure withintheeyeball,causingprogressive,irreversibleandgraduallossofsight.Itcanbepreventedonly detectionindiscratio(CDR),ratioofbloodvesselareaininteriorandsuperiorsideofthebloodvessel inthenasaltemporalsideextractedfromretinalfundusimages.Reducingthenumberoffeaturesand reducingtheerrorratearetwoconflictingobjectives.Theproposedmethodologyaimstoexplore theuseofDifferentialEvolutionbasedmultiobjectivefeatureselectiontechniquetoselectasubset offeatureswhichminimizebothourconflictingobjectives.Theperformanceofselectedsubsetof featureshasbeenevaluatedusingKNNclassificationtechnique.Ithasbeenobservedthatsaidextracted subsetoffivefeatures,KNNclassificationachievedbetteraccuracythananyothersubsetoffeatures.
