Providing the QoS with the Help of Transport Coding

Transport coding is the method of transmitting data in a network based on the use of error-correcting coding, which reduces the dispersion of the packet delay with some increase in the mean packet delay. Using of the transport coding allows decreasing the mean message delay in packet switching network. In this paper we suggest using transport coding for the transmission of priority messages instead of priority packets. We show that significant gain in decreasing the mean delay of priority messages can be obtained by using the transport coding. With the help of transport coding it is easy to provide different levels of message delay and jitter for the different dataflows
