Examples of measured performance for various designs are contrasted against the original design goals. Overall performance and test procedures are detailed in Part 6A (1). The results of detailed interstage measurements are presented herein. Diffusion levels within the compressor components are quantified. The critical role of the laboratory in successful product development is illustrated. Manufacturing procedures (castings vs. machining, thick leading edges, rough surfaces, etc.) are shown to significantly influence performance.Copyright © 1985 by Concepts ETI, Inc.
