Elastic analysis of radial cracks emanating from the outer and inner surfaces of a circular ring

Abstract The elastic solution for one to four radial cracks emanating from either the inner or outer surface of a circular ring is considered. For cracks emanating from the outer surface, internal pressure is considered, while for cracks emanating from the inner surface, the loading is uniform external tension. The technique used for the solution is the modified mapping-collocation approach. Data is presented for two wall ratios for each geometry.
