Experimental investigations of castellated beams under bending load

In determining the resistance of castellated beams to lateral-torsional buckling the application of the appropriate buckling curve is crucial. For the purposes of investigating the application of the relevant buckling curve the results of laboratory testing are critical. The paper shows the testing of castellated beams wherein the failure was caused by lateral-torsional buckling. The comparison of the flexural capacity of the beams and the computed flexural capacity according to EN 1993-1-1:2005 has been conducted. The statistical data of the basic variable of model factor for ultimate load are given that are necessary for reliability analysis of castellated beams.
