Deriving the meaning of iconic sentences for augmentative communication

We describe the design of an interactive knowledge-base system for the derivation of the meanings of iconic sentences for augmentative communication. For knowledge representation and semantic inference, we have combined the principles of two theories: the theory of icon algebra and the theory of conceptual dependency. This interactive KB system thus supports the introduction of semantics during the design of iconic languages.<<ETX>>
