Design of a novel energy router and its application in energy internet

A novel energy router(ER), which is integrated with solid state transformer module, intelligence control module, fault detection module and communication module, is properly designed in this paper. It can achieve the connection of multiple energy sources including wind energy, solar energy, and energy storage, in addition can ensure high power quality supply for single-phase load, three-phase load and DC load of various voltage grade. Meanwhile, its bi-directional power flow mode can realize optimized power allocation under different demand background. ER can effectively reduce the impact on system brought by the randomness of the renewable energy resources and the interference to power distribution network, realize generation and consumption of electricity at local, improve the power output of renewable energy resources. Modular design makes ER expand easily and assures play-and-plug for generation devices and loads. Also optimized intelligence control strategy makes ER play an important support role in distribution network. Power fluctuation inhibition strategy of load-energy storage-renewable energy resources integration is properly proposed and simulated, in addition, correctness of ER topology and control strategy are verified by experiment.
