A DC traction power supply converter system with very low harmonics for railway vehicles

A multi-converter DC traction power supply converter system (DC-TPSCS) for railway vehicles is proposed, which has such merits as low harmonics, saving energy, high power factor and high flexibility. The Interleaved SVPWM (ISVPWM) and LCL-filter are adopted to reduce the harmonic current injected into the public Grid. The control scheme special for the proposed multi-converter is discussed, which is based on typical double-loop control in synchronous d-q frame. An experimental plant for DC-TPSCS is built in the laboratory. The analysis and results are verified by experiments.
