Reticulated domes have been used extensively due to their large span capacity and high structural performance, but wind effects are not settled well in engineering field yet. This paper outlines the probabilistic method for the dynamic action of wind, and applies it to reticulated domes. The beam and bar elements in 3-d space are employed to model the members of the dome, and wind action assumed to be a stable random variable. Accordingly, wind load, analytical model and structural response are formulated statistically. Furthermore, the dynamic responses have been analyzed comprehensively for shallow single-layer domes (K6-8). The findings show that the fluctuating wind effects are fairly higher, and the vertical component of the wind has also to be taken into account for shallow domes.
