Fuzzy logic controlled MPPT assisted PV-FC power generation for motor driven water pumping system

This paper presents a hybrid Photovoltaic/Fuel cell (PV/FC) power generation system using renewable energy (RE) sources e.g. solar photovoltaic (PV) system and proton exchange membrane fuel cell (PEMFC). Generated electrical power is utilized for water pumping system used in agriculture applications. In this paper, a PV system is considered as main power generating source and FC is considered as secondary source for supplying the induction motor driven water pumping system. The design and implementation of a fuzzy logic based maximum power point tracker (MPPT) to extract the maximum power point (MPP) of PV system is also proposed. The modeling and analysis of PV and PEMFC based systems have been done using MATLAB Simulink.
