The invention relates to an LVRT closed-loop simulation test method of a controller of a high-voltage frequency converter of a thermal plant. The method comprises that a simulation model of the high-voltage converter of the thermal plant is built in a real-time simulation platform RT-LAB, the controller of the high-voltage frequency converter is connected to the simulation model, and receives samples of the simulation model, a power amplifier of the simulation platform outputs analog voltage and current signals which are calculated and processed after being obtained, and the controller of the high-voltage frequency converter outputs digital pulse signals and back feeds the digital pulse signals to an IGBT module of a software model via an digital interface of a simulator to form a closed loop. A three-phase electric network model is arranged in the simulation platform to realize transient voltage sag, and thus, whether the controller of the high-voltage frequency converter is capable of high/low voltage ride through can be detected. The method can be used to effectively provide an environment, which can simulate the real work condition, for the high-voltage frequency converter as well as other important control and protection devices of the power system, and all functions and other dynamic control performance of the controller can be comprehensively detected.
