Parsing Asymmetries

We extend the Integrated Asymmetry hypothesis in considering the relations between principle-based linguistic models and corresponding parsing models with respect to their account of inverse and covert asymmetries. We present an integrated model of language knowledge and language use relying on the logical definition of asymmetry. Our integrated model keeps the relation between the grammar and the parser maximally simple while it keeps constant the specificity of each system. The integration of asymmetry-based parser in IP systems improves their performance.
