Fluorescence Array Biosensor Part 2: Biochemistry and Application

An automated biosensor capable of detecting multiple analytes simultaneously has shown ng/ml levels of sensitivity for toxins, bacteria, and viruses. The biosensor can run multiple samples simultaneously over an array of capture antibodies. Exposure of the array to sample is followed by exposure to a cocktail of fluorescent antibodies. Fluorescence array elements detected by a CCD indicate the presence and identity of an analyte in the sample. The immunochemistry is described and assay results are presented.
