Blind Separation For Audio Signals - Are We There Yet?

a540aa@email.mot.com http://members.home.net/torkkol a ABSTRACT We attempt to give an overview of current research in blind se paration of convolutive mixing of signals, concentrating on aud io signals, and methods applicable thereof. We briefly enumerate s ome application areas, we present two possible taxonomies of se paration methods, one based on system parametrizations, the oth er n different criteria to solve the problem. We wade through the literature following these taxonomies. We also discuss what migh t yet be missing in the current research.
