GPS multipath mitigation during code tracking

An approach for reducing the Global Positioning System (GPS) ranging errors, caused by reflections (termed multipath) of the satellite transmitted signal, is presented; such ranging errors typically are the dominant contributor to real-time positioning error in differential GPS applications. Simulation results demonstrate significant reduction of the tracking error introduced by the presence of multipath, as compared to a standard code tracking loop design.
