Comment on A Letter to the Editor Regarding "Evaluation of Simplified Lymphatic Microsurgical Preventing Healing Approach (S-LYMPHA) for the Prevention of Breast Cancer-Related Clinical Lymphedema After Axillary Lymph Node Dissection".

for MIS treatment of SMTs, and disseminate the technique. We believe this is important to ensure that a growing number of surgeons adopt MIS techniques such that patient outcomes can be improved. This is an everevolving field. Many techniques exist. This is exciting as it allows precision medicine in surgery, whereby surgical techniques can be tailored to a patient and tumor’s specific characteristics. Close collaboration with therapeutic endoscopy is also key in achieving this goal. Endoscopic resection techniques have already expanded in the submucosa and beyond. Advanced techniques such as submucosal tunneling and endoscopic resection (STER) and endoscopic full-thickness resection (EFTR) are further challenging the need for surgery on gastric SMTs, and will need to be incorporated in decision-making as they become more widely available.
