AN OVERVIEW OF THE REACTIVE POWER ALLOCATION IN ELECTRIC POWER SYSTEMS

This paper reviews of the existing techniques for the reactive power allocation in large power systems. The description of the problem with its significance to the operation and planning of power systems is presented. Merits of the corresponding techniques are reviewed according to their types of formulation.
