Simulating the Dynamics of Particles Interacting with Solidification Fronts (Preprint - Briefing Charts)

Abstract : 1) Developed a multiscale numerical approach to solve particle-solidification front problems in a general manner. 2) Model can be generalized to solve a variety of problems involving interacting interfaces. 3) First to look at the physics from a nonlinear dynamics point-of-view (i.e. phase-space point of view). 4) Model captures essential physics that past research has neglected.
