ANALYSIS OF DOWELED JOINTS UNDER REPETITIVE LOADING

Performance of doweled joints of concrete pavement under repetitive loading is analysed in this paper. A new model of doweled joints under repetitive loading is established and used in a finite element analysis of the joints. The relationship between load and deflection of pavement in use in the areas adjacent to joints is established. It is proved that the accumulation of dowel looseness is a key factor in the relationship between load and deflection. The application of the model is also presented.
