Analysis of inherent shaft voltage in flux-switching permanent magnet machine

Motor reliability research has received extensive attention and the bearing is one of components with the highest failure rates in the machine. The shaft voltage is one of the main causes of bearing failure. In this paper, the inherent shaft voltage of flux-switching permanent magnet (FSPM) machine is analyzed which associated with motor structure of Stator-PM machine. The inherent shaft voltage analysis model is developed and simulation is carried out for different speed, shaft radius and material, rotor eccentricity and armature current by finite element analysis (FEA). The results will be helpful to machine design and reliability analysis.
