Although such omnibus vehicles tend to embrace the all-encompassing nature of the discipline, they all too often stay at the surface of critical issues. Fresh Water provided an intensive and inspiring forum for deeper, collective engagement. A collection of the conference papers and visual works has been published under the title Fresh Water: Design Research for Inland Water Territories (2019) with Applied Research and Design Publishing. In all of its compelling hybridity, it is a welcome addition to the literature for educators and practitioners.
