A Methodology for the Reorganization of Urban Goods Movements in Rome

This paper deals with the organization of the delivery system in Rome. The study outlines the “best practices” and the results of a cluster analysis on the relationships among implemented measures and some socioeconomic features of the sites they are implemented in. It then tackles the feasibility of a reorganization process for delivery operations in Rome’s central areas. The study focuses on the design of a suitable loading/unloading lots provision that is currently insufficient. Once such basic requirement is met, it goes on to address the development of strategies to improve delivery operations.
