Autowaves in single layer CNNs

The possibility of implementing autowaves, spirals and self-organizing patterns by using a one layer CNN is explored in this paper. In particular the conditions for the onset of the self organizing phenomena are reported and some simulation preliminary results are introduced. The feasibility of the approach is clear, since it gives the opportunity to implement the recently introduced strategy for locomotion generation and control by using a simple CNN realized with the currently available CNN chip prototypes.
