ENTEROCOLITE NECROSANTE NEONATAL : UMA REVISÃO ICONOGRÁFICA DAS ALTERAÇÕES RADIOLÓGICAS NEONATAL NECROTIZING ENTEROCOLITIS: AN ICONOGRAPHIC REVISION OF RADIOLOGICAL CHANGES

Necrotizing enterocolitis is a common acute abdominal condition seen in the neonatal period. Its early recognition and the prompt institu- tion of appropriated therapy are essential to limit morbidity and mortality. Simple abdominal x-ray is the first line examination, for a correct diagnose follow-up and detection of complications. With this article we briefly refresh the etiopathology of necrotizing enterocolitis and with several cases diagnosed in our institution, we make a systematic pictorial review of the most common radiological findings.
