AN APPROACH TO THE PRODUCTION LINE OF AUTOMOBILES BY MAN-COMPUTER SYSTEM

In order to improve the manufacturing capacity of a production works substantially, mere improvements of performance in “hardware” such as process machinary and upgrading of production workers are not sufficient, and a fully integrated total production control system closely adapted to the actual conditions at the production site must be formed. It is necessary to develop a method, based on the concepts of system engineering, of analysis and synthesis for such problems of the production works. In this paper, two methods, formed in man-computer system using the functions of man and computer, are proposed. Each effectiveness of two methods is discussed in relation to examples taken from the problems of line balancing and stock minimum, respectively, of the assembly line in the production of motor cycles or automobiles.
