Generally, in inverter are welding machines, much spatter which is small article generated during metal transfer procedure is generated. It reduces productivity and needs additional removal work. So, the recent research topics on CO₂ are welding machines are focused on the reduction method of generated spatter. In this paper, Wire feeding rate control method for enhanced welding performance of inverter are welding machine is studied and compared with the control method of commercial welding machine For the proposed wire feeding motor control system, the digital controller is designed by TMS320F240.
From results of experiment, welding current and voltage waveforms of the proposed controller show better characteristics and less instantaneous short circuit which can affect for amount of spatter generation. Through the phase plane analysis, the ripples of speed and acceleration in the proposed scheme become so much less than those in the commercial welding machine. Finally, it can be seen that wire feeding speed ripple affect spatter generation directly. Therefore, welding performance can be improved by reducing of wire feeder speed ripple using constant speed control method
