Method and apparatus for operation of an electronic device

Various embodiments of the present invention relate to a method for controlling an electronic device using a pressure input of the electronic device and a device thereof. The electronic device includes: a housing including a first surface in a first direction and a second surface in a second direction being the opposite direction of the first direction; a touchscreen display which is arranged between the first and second surfaces while being exposed through the first surface; a pressure sensor arranged between the first and second surfaces while sensing a pressure from an outside object to the touchscreen display; a wireless communication circuit; one or more processors electrically connected to the touchscreen display, pressure sensor, and wireless communication circuit; and a memory electrically connected to the processors. The memory can include instructions for, when executed by the processors, displaying a screen including one or more objects on the touchscreen display, receiving data representing the touchscreen display being pressed by the outside object at a pressure exceeding a selected pressure from one or both of the pressure sensor and the wireless communication circuit, receiving a handwriting input through the touchscreen display after receiving the data, displaying images and/or characters to overlap the screens in accordance with the handwriting input on the touchscreen display, maintaining the screen after elapse of selected time, and removing the images and/or characters. Various other embodiments are possible.
