Analysis of Crashworthy Measure of Reinforced Concrete Block on Anti-Seism in Urban Interchange Bridge Under Earthquake

In order to find out the structural seismic effects about fixing flexible device in front of the reinforced concrete block to decrease pounding, the seismic performances of the reinforced concrete block on anti-seism behavior with crashworthy device in urban interchange bridge under earthquake were explored by simulating pounding with nonlinear contact element during the nonlinear time-history analysis. By parameters analysis of single column model with crashworthy device and the contradistinctive analysis of simple supported bridge model with or without crashworthy device, the allowable maximum deformation of crashworthy device is the manipulative parameter for decreasing pounding effects which is obtained from the analytical results. Furthermore, impact stiffness, allowable maximum deformation of crashworthy device, limitation of construction should be taken into consideration during anti-seismic design process.
