A Clinical Study of the Isolated Sphenoid Sinus Disease

The isolated sphenoid sinus disease is sometimes found by diagnostic imaging. Patients suffer from several kinds of symptom, not only postnasal drips and chronic cough but impaired eyesight and eyeball movement block. Therefore when the diagnosis is difficult only with diagnostic imaging, it is necessary to do biopsy or experimental opening by endoscopic sinus surgery. We experienced an ectopic pituitary adenoma case, which we could not rule out malignant disease only with imaging. We also experienced an inflammation case which we considered the destruction type mycosis and we performed an urgent operation. For future examination, we report the isolated sphenoid sinus disease with our operation cases.
