The Third International Workshop on Rules in Database Systems (RIDS'97)

This report is a summary of the Third International Workshop on Rules in Database Systems (RIDS'97) (Geppert & Berndtsson, 1997) which was organized by the database groups at University of Zurich (Switzerland) and University of Skovde (Sweden), and was held at the University of Skovde, June 26–28 1997. Following the success of RIDS '93 (Edinburgh) (Paton & Williams, 1993) (1st International Workshop on Rules in Database Systems), and RIDS '95 (Athens) (Sellis, 1995), the successor RIDS '97 brought together researchers working on both theoretical and practical aspects of rules in database systems.
