An Experimental Study of Collaborative Behaviors in Emergency Evacuation Scenarios

This work describes a multi-agent simulation for emergency evacuation. The agents are designed using the BDI architecture and use different collaboration patterns in order to find, as quickly as possible, the exits from different buildings represented as grids of various complexities. Social behavior is analyzed across different scenarios in order to identify the best collaboration method during an emergency evacuation situation and the ways to improve collaboration so as to maximize both the individual and the group utility.
