Study and Simulation of Wireless Network Measurement and Control System

The great advances in microelectronics and MEMS (micro-electro-mechanical system) make it possible to design real-time control loops over wireless networks. Real time character is the common request of control systems, multitask is the mainstream of the distributed control system nowadays. Aiming at selecting communication protocol in the wireless networks, the TrueTime toolbox is applied to establishing the simulation model of the Wireless Network Measurement Control System (WNMCS). We compare the performance of IEEE 802.15.4-based WNMCS to that of IEEE 802.11b-based WNMCS. Experimental results show that the IEEE 802.15.4-based WNMCS is a very promising alternative for wireless industrial networking.
