Traffic microsimulation of Adelaide CBD road network

The Transport Systems Centre (TSC) at the University of South Australia in conjunction with the Adelaide City Council (ACC) is constructing a microsimulation model of the City of Adelaide road network and the Inner Ring Route surrounding the ACC area. The project, funded by an Australian Research Council (ARC) Linkage Grant, commenced in 2003 and spans over three years. Modelling is being performed using Paramics software package from the UK based Quadstone Ltd. The research project seeks to quantify the advantages of using different intelligent transport systems (ITS) technologies in an Australian Central Business District (CBD) environment.
