A wireless surface electromyography (sEMG) probe with 4 high-speed channels

This paper presents the design and development of a wireless surface electromyography (sEMG) probe with 4 highspeed channels. Compared to the portable sEMG probes available in the market, the presented wireless sEMG probe has (a) higher transmission speed, allowing higher sampling frequency, (b) a higher number of sensing channels, and (c) a wide range of programmable gains thus allowing the measurement of very weak sEMG signals down to 100 nV. Experimental results obtained from the measurements of four sEMG signals during bicep pronation and displayed on an Android-based smartphone are reported.
