Cooperation-based Ant Colony Algorithm in WSN

This paper proposed a routing algorithm based on ant colony algorithm. The traditional ant colony algorithm updates pheromone according to the path length, to get the shortest path from the initial node to destination node. But MIMO system is different from the SISO system. The distance is farther but the energy is not bigger. Similarly, the closer the distance, the smaller the energy is not necessarily. So need to select the path according to the energy consumption of the path. This paper is based on the energy consumption to update the pheromone which from the cluster head node to the next hop node. Then, can find a path which the communication energy consumption is least. This algorithm can save more energy consumption of the network. The simulation results of MATLAB show that the path chosen by the algorithm is better than the simple ant colony algorithm, and the algorithm can save the network energy consumption better and can prolong the life cycle of the network.
