Architectures for high-order multibit Sigma delta modulators

Sigma Delta modulators with higher-order noise shaping and multibit internal quantizers are described. A new realization method for single-stage high-order modulators is discussed, and a new multistage architecture with multibit quantizers and interstage scaling is described. A digital correction method for the effects of nonideal analog components of the multistage modulator is presented. Simulation results are included to verify the theoretical considerations.<<ETX>>
