Routing multipoint connections in VP-based ATM networks

We address the multipoint (multicast) routing problem in VP-based ATM networks. Our goal is to minimize network blocking rate while managing to achieve a fast connection setup time. For dynamic multicast routing we consider also heterogeneous destination requirements. Preliminary simulation results of our proposed static multicast routing algorithm are presented. The design issues of the dynamic multicast routing algorithm are discussed.
