Efficient Performances of Induction Generator for Wind Energy Utilization

This paper highlights the induction generator emciency as a basic lector for operating the wind turbine connected to utility grid, through AC/DC/AC converter, at its maximum power trackha To have maximum power extracted from the wind turbine through the induction generator, the loading parameters have to be controlled in the dlreetion of martmum efllciency of the induction generator. To anatye the effect of the generator efficiency, a simple equivalent circuit is proposed to represent the ACIDCIAC converter-grid combination as reen by the induction generator to simplify the analysis. The steady state performance of the induction generator is invesaated An accurate range of operation for the load parmetem is developed. This analysis is baaed on the condition of operating the system not only on the m-um power extracted of the wind turbine but also on the maximum iudoction generator efficiency.
