DYNAMIC STABILITY ANALYSIS TAKING INTO ACCOUNT LOAD FLOW MULTISOLUTIONS AND LOAD CHARACTERISTICS

In modern bulk power systems, the transmission line is becoming increasingly long and many loads tend to consume cnstant power with poor power factor regardless of the supply voltage. It has often been pointed out that these trends may cause voltage instability at the receiving end of long-distance transmission line. The voltage instability is closely related to load flow multisolutions representing very close operating points. Such multisolutions often appear in the ill-conditioned or heavily loaded system.
