CYCLING IN A MEDIUM-SIZED AUSTRALIAN CITY

This paper reports on a survey conducted at the Townsville campus of James Cook University in Australia, in March 1996, in order to assess the attitudes of staff and students towards bicycling, to identify limitations of the bicycle mode, and to determine network characteristics. As a result of the study, programs in bicycle routing and technology development are recommended.
