Securing high-resolution train videos encoded with HEVC and inter prediction mode

Abstract This paper proposes an algorithm with different approaches for introducing hidden messages in a video under the HEVC standard with one of the most aggressive lossy compression processes: mixing intra-mode and inter-mode (I/B/P frames). Likewise, a high-capacity method for recovering the message is presented. The benefit of this proposal is that the H.265 standard is not modified. The results show that the average retrieval capacity is above 95 % and the proposed algorithm has no impact on the coding time or bitstream size when compared with normal compression.
