Enhanced Centralized Access Control System

Access system allows authenticated persons to enter restricted areas. The paper describes proposed and realized centralized access system with remote control possibility. The authentication is based on RFID technology using MFRC522 module and access system is based on client/server communication between ESP8266 and centralized database. The goal of the project is to show possibility where todays IoT modules can be used also as a main controller not just as a communication interface. It allows more efficient integration and cost save solutions. The research is focused to create multi-node IoT system supporting client-server, but also peer-to-peer communication.
