TNCs and global environmental change: A review of the UN Benchmark Corporate Environmental Survey

Abstract The purpose of this paper is to analyse the United Nations (UN) Benchmark Corporate Environmental Survey Report, which Investigates the environmental management practices of transnational corporations (TNCs), in order to better understand the relationship between the global capitalist system and global environmental change (GEC). It is grounded in Sklair's conceptualization of the sociology of the global system. Specifically, It uses the UN Benchmark Survey to suggest how different types of TNCs respond to global environmental change issues. It also Indicates potential research areas and questions for developing a sociological analysis of TNCs in global environmental change (GEC).
