A security model of flow label based QoS mechanism in Evolved Packet System

The rapid development of Mobile Internet, especially the emergence and popularity of smart mobile terminals has been making data traffic increase dramatically. As the next generation mobile communication network, EPS(Evolved Packet System) is to commit to addressing the exist problems. Security problems are important to EPS core network since leaking user information will seriously impact the user experience. The existing flow label based QoS mechanism can solve problems of bearer ID based QoS mechanism in EPS core network. However, this mechanism also introduces some security problems with the combination of flow label and EPS. This paper focuses on the research of security of flow label based QoS mechanism and proposes a security model of the roaming and non-roaming scenarios in EPS core network. Moreover, according to the proposed security model, simulation has been done based on OpenIMSCore platform to validate the proposed security model, and the results show that the proposed scheme is able to solve the security problem.
