A high efficiency direct instantaneous torque control of SRM using commutation angles control

This paper investigates the problem of angle optimization in direct instantaneous torque controlled (DITC) switched reluctance motor (SRM). The torque to ampere ratio (T/A) enlargement of the motor is studied through adjustment of switching angles in order to improve the efficiency of the motor. An optimization function is used to determine the proper switching angles in each operation point. The proposed method is quite easy to implement without complex algorithms. Simulation comparisons are also presented on a 12/8 switched reluctance motor to validate the proposed control scheme.
