Overview of Shanghai Flexible HVDC Transmission Demonstration Project

The first flexible HVDC transmission demonstration project in China-Shanghai Nanhui Wind Power Farm is introduced in detail.Then this paper presents the grid-connection scheme,the operation mode and the power output range,as well as the structure of flexible HVDC substation and particular equipments.Based on the debugging process and the results,the further research direction is pointed out.
