Simulation Methodology for Speech Quality of VoIP in Mobile Communication Networks

A simulation framework for VoIP speech quality in wideband mobile communication systems was intended to outline, which is composed of wireless link simulation, system performance simulation and speech quality simulation. There has been a focus on packet speech quality simulation. In the proposed simulation, the Gilbert model is used to simulate the packets dropped and PESQ algorithm is for calculating MOS of speech. A simulation example of VoIP in cdma2000 1x networks was carried out. The results demonstrate the relationship between packet loss rate, busty packet loss, terminal number and speech quality.
