Linear Motor Vibration Suppression Using High-Speed Fine Controller

Linear motor has good dynamic performance and high precision. Due to no transmission, damping of the system equipped with linear motor is too small. Thus, the vibration can not be damped effectively. To suppress vibration, this paper purposes a new control scheme which is basing on traditional cascaded PID scheme. A new control loop is added to connect outer-loop with inner-loop. This control scheme has less delay and has no impact to system dynamic performance. So the PID parameters do not need to be changed. Experiments show that this control scheme can suppress linear motor vibration effectively.
